Bilingual Human Resources Business Advisor
In the Downstream sector of our business, Petro-Canada operates in five key areas: Refining & Supply, Integration & Planning, Marketing, Lubricants, and Sales, Service & Operations.
Petro-Canada’s long-term strategy is to improve the profitability of our base businesses, including the downstream business, and to deliver long-term, profitable growth. We believe that providing the right people with the right capabilities to our base businesses will allow Petro-Canada to deliver on these strategies.
Job Profile:
In this operational role based in Mississauga, you will be a member of the HR Services team supporting Petro-Canada's Downstream Marketing and Sales, Service & Operations business units. You will be responsible for a client group of approximately 300 employees across Canada, located in our major centres (Calgary, Edmonton, Mississauga, and Montreal).
As a valued business partner and member of the leadership team, you will work closely with your client groups to deliver the complete HR product/service offering. You will play an integral role in building and sustaining a high performance work environment that drives business results.
Accountabilities
- As the successful candidate for this position, you will provide leadership in the following areas:
- Service Integration – ensuring the complete HR product service offering meets customer needs and delivers exceptional business results
- Strategy and Business Plans – initiating and supporting the development of HR elements of the business plan and strategy
- Diagnosis & Problem Solving – identification and resolution of human and organizational issues and opportunities
- Business Partnering – providing support and advice regarding the effective utilization of employee relations and organizational effectiveness
- Brokering of Special Resources – identification and contracting with internal specialists in response to individual and organizational performance gaps
- Personal Coaching and Feedback – providing feedback to business partners regarding application of HR business practices and interaction with employees
Capabilities/Skills/Attributes Required:
As the Bilingual Sr. HR Business Advisor, you will possess the following skills:
- Minimum of 5 years consulting/advisor skills
- Bilingual French/English (required)
- Undergraduate degree in business or related discipline
- Proficient in full suite of MS Office software and Intranet
- Project Management skills
- Knowledge of total compensation
- Demonstrated ability to deal comfortably with employees at all levels of the organization
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Negotiation skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Results focused
Additional Information:
- As this position supports clients across the country, some travel will be required for this position.
- Petro-Canada offers a very attractive total compensation and benefit package. Salary administration will be dependent on the skill level and experience of the successful candidate.
