Job Description:
[Company] is currently seeking to fill a maternity leave contract for the position of Human Resources Generalist. Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the purpose for this role is to provide functional human resources support to operations team of approximately 1600 staff throughout Canada.
Responsibilities
Ensure proper administration of benefits information in accordance with company policies, procedures and plans, including:
- New employee enrolment / termination;
- Responding to all benefits related employee queries;
- Short and long term disability management;
- Preparation, analysis and reconciliation of premiums for monthly submissions to appropriate carrier;
- Preparation of various monthly, quarterly and ad hoc reports, including compensation survey reports as required;
- In collaboration with other HR team members, ensure the needs of operational staff are being met – including the provision of HR guidance to staff, including: interpreting company policies and provincial and federal legislation and providing guidance regarding HR initiatives;
- Ensure proper maintenance of Human Resources Information Systems.
Knowledge
- Strong understanding of HR best practices and legislation;
- Minimum 2 years related experience;
- Understanding of business processes and ability to work closely with all levels of staff; including senior management;
- Proactive, results oriented, practical;
- Ability to learn quickly and work with a high degree of confidentiality;
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent administrative and technological skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint, etc);
