We are currently recruiting for the following position.
This position is located in the [Company] Centre in Calgary. The successful candidate will lead the Canadian Payroll team that provides payroll services & support for over 5,000 Canadian employees.
Accountabilities:
· This individual is responsible for designing, staffing and operating the systems, processes and procedures related to Canadian Payroll.
· Processing Payrolls for four different legal entities using SAP HR/Payroll;
· Providing process and SAP support to timekeeping staff across the country;
· Ensuring compliance with payroll legislation & regulation in numerous jurisdictions as well as with corporate policy and collective agreements;
· Ensuring the reliability, accuracy and timeliness of payroll data, processes and interfaces on a pay period and annual basis;
· Liaising with SAP I/S, HR, Finance and other service partners to ensure mutual business requirements are met in a timely and effective manner;
· Leading and developing a team of payroll professionals;
· Updating and developing payroll processes & procedures to support changing business requirements in a dynamic company.
Capability Requirements:
· Experience with SAP Payroll and HR (or similar enterprise wide systems);
· Possesses an Accounting or Payroll designation;
· Demonstrates advanced Excel capability;
· Proficient with the other elements of MS Office software and Intranet;
· Minimum of 5 years supervision skills;
· Project Management skills;
· Knowledge of payroll legislation and practices.

· Effective team member and a demonstrated ability to work in a cooperative, positive and constructive manner with all levels of a corporate organization to effectively address business challenges;
· Experienced working as a leader or senior member of project teams, taking responsibility for critical deliverables;

· Demonstrated ability to work in a constantly changing environment that requires ongoing assessment and analysis of processes and procedures;
· Experienced at researching information to understand or develop business processes from a variety of sources.
