Reporting to the Operations Training Lead, this position will work closely with client groups conducting all facets of the training function. A large focus of this position is process operations training.

- Ensure the knowledge and skills of new employees are assessed, development plans to suit the employee are created, and training is delivered/received
- Assess the requirements of internal customers and present training solutions to training needs
- Design and deliver training courses and programs using a variety of learning methods and tools
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training events and programs
- Prepare/manage training related programs and materials such as learning manuals, evaluations and presentations
- Provide training and coaching to course designers, manual developers and instructors
- Input records into SAP, provide analysis and reports
- Ensure the library of training and other reference materials are maintained
- Remain abreast of current training practices and program availability, as well as current operating, safety and environmental practices
- Input into the training budget and manage training costing information
- Source, coordinate and manage external training vendors
Qualifications
Our ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- Certificate and/or Diploma in Adult Education or combination of skills and experience that demonstrate training function management and application of adult learning principles
- Certified Training Practitioner (CTP) or Certified Training & Development Professional (CTDP) would be an asset
- Previous experience in a training role is preferred. Previous plant operating experience would be a definite asset
- Technical knowledge of the Husky Lloydminster Upgrader plant, equipment and processes would be an asset
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills
- Must be able to work independently and have good analytical and organizational skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Must have a strong work ethic and dedicated commitment to satisfying the training needs of staff
- Ability to multi-task and respond to constantly changing needs and schedules
- Good knowledge of MS Office applications
- Experience with SAP Training and Events module, Computer Based Training and Web served training applications would be an asset
