Responsibilities:
You will be compiling, maintaining and updating spatial datasets through a MapInfo interface directly into an Oracle spatial database.
You will be producing high quality maps and digital data outputs utilising MapInfo to various internal customers in support of the Company’s Australian and International activities.
You will be liaising with internal customers to clarify their requirements to provide the required business result in a timely manner.
You will have accomplished research skills in locating and acquiring spatial datasets from various national and international government and/or commercial data suppliers/warehouses.
Requirements:
Experience with MapInfo.
High quality cartographic presentation skills.
At least two years experience working within a GIS environment.
Good understanding of GIS data structures.
Ability to communicate at all levels and deliver to a deadline.
Positive attitude and a strong team contributor.
Tertiary qualifications in Cartography or Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
Whilst not essential, knowledge of the ESRI suite of products and FME software would be an advantage.
