The Human Resources Business Advisor is a key member of Our Human Resources Operations Team based in Calgary. As a valued business partner, you will work closely with Shared Service units (Environment, Safety & Social Responsibility, Supply Chain Management, Tax, Treasurers and Strategic Planning) and the Human Resources community to provide strategic advice and human resource services that are aligned with the company’s business plans and to build organizational capability to ensure competitive advantage.
 
Accountabilities
The Human Resources Business Advisor will work closely with leadership teams to:
  • Deliver the base human resources business including:
    • Consistent performance support and capability development practices;
    • Leadership development and capability development activities;
    • The effective application of compensation programs;
    • The development of Workforce Plans and Succession Plans ;
    • The development of recruitment and retention strategies and tactics;
    • The analysis of employee survey data to create gap closure plans;
    • Support and coaching for leaders and employees;
 
Work as a strategic partner to:
      • Develop and execute organization improvement initiatives such as change management, organization design, organization effectiveness;
      • Identify and support work environment improvement initiatives;
      • Mediate disputes regarding workplace issues when required.
 
Capability Requirements:
Specific Functional/Technical Skills
  • Knowledge of key people processes necessary to leverage business results;
  • 5 – 7 years demonstrated Human Resources generalist experience;
  • Undergraduate degree in business or related discipline;
  • Demonstrated working experience and skill in performance management;
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office;
  • Practical change management experience;
  • Demonstrated skill in designing and facilitating sessions with leaders and teams;
  • Working knowledge of organizational effectiveness practices;
  • A CHRP designation would be an asset.
 
General Skills/Knowledge/Attributes
  • Ability to deal comfortably with employees at all levels of the organization;
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with leaders; Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to take the lead in driving human resource process within an organization;
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the delivery of presentations & workshop/focus group facilitation;
  • Negotiation skills;
  • Belief that our competitive advantage is through our people;
  • Strong internal customer focus;

Additional Information:
We offer a very attractive total compensation and benefit package. Salary administration will be dependent on the skill level and experience of the successful candidate.
