Job Description
- Oversees human resources functions for Research and Development and Manufacturing at the Houston Technology Center.
- Works with select international offices on specific needs, issues and requests.
- Advises and facilitates the development and implementation of global human resources initiatives in the areas of employment, employee relations, compensation and benefits, management development, training and organization design and effectiveness.
- Has budgetary responsibility for the department.
- Handles very complex assignments and acts as business partner with management.
- Counsels and directs managers on HR policies, procedures and programs.
- Communicates HR related programs to managers and employees.
- Directs and develops human resources staff. Develops short and long range strategic plans for effective utilization of human resources. Is given broad discretion and autonomy in decision making. Handles special projects, as assigned.
Qualifications
- Strong research and development background.
- Broad knowledge of HR principles, practices, and procedures.
- Demonstrated experience in effecting change in the work environment.
- Ability to work independently and to work as part of a team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Effective leadership skills.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
- Master's Degree a plus.
- 10+ years HR experience including supervisory experience.
- Certain professional certifications may be required.Â
