Job Description
This HR generalist position supports a population of 300+ employees. The incumbent will assist team leaders and employees in developing and implementing HR programs which support achievement of business objectives. This includes staff planning, compensation administration, employee and organizational development, change management, performance management, communications, employee policies and equal opportunity affairs. In addition, the generalist provides consulting support to both managers and employees on employee relations issues and coordinates programs which promote positive team spirit and effective working relationships.
Context & Environment: This position requires significant ability to multi-task and to establish priorities. Nature of work requires a high energy level and an ability to work at a fast-pace to meet deadlines with limited direction. Incumbent should be comfortable with a high level of people contact and able to manage frequent interruptions.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources management or in related academic field.
· Minimum ten to fifteen years Human Resources experience; including HR generalist experience. Prior experience in a multi-national company in the energy industry preferred.
· Solid understanding and working knowledge of a broad range of Human
· Resources functions, including: staff planning, recruiting, compensation analysis & administration, employee and organization development, change management, performance management, communications, employee policies, equal opportunity affairs and the regulations relating to these areas. In-depth experience in one or more disciplines within HR functional area.
· Experience in and demonstrated proficiency in consulting with line managers.
· Excellent interpersonal skills, high degree of comfort working in a team-oriented environment, and demonstrated ability to effectively coach less experienced HR professionals.
· Self motivated with a high energy level, and the ability to deliver results in a multi-task, fast-paced environment with limited direction.
· Analytical and critical thinking skills, with an attention to details.
· Excellent written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to effectively advocate functional perspective in business discussions.
· Strong organizational skills; demonstrated ability to independently manage projects of moderate complexity.
· Problem-solving skills – demonstrated ability to consider, analyze and recommend multiplesolutions to problems.
· Strong proficiency with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Internet research tools, and HRIS applications.
· Ability to travel up to 35%
