Job description
Our Comany is creating a team in Canada that draws on local knowledge and expertise needed to operate in Alberta’s oilsands, while utilizing the Group’s international experience
 
We have big expansion plans for our Alberta operations. Along with big plans, comes big opportunity. You will play a crucial role in achieving Our goal of becoming a leading producer in the Alberta oilsands.
 
ACTIVITY
  • Lead development of mining and tailings plans in support of the Phase 2 EUB Application, including review of responses to Supplementary Information Requests from the EUB and AENV, and participation in public hearing. Will also be required to attend Open Houses with local stakeholders to explain the project.
  • Development of Mineable Resources report every 3rd quarter, including pit limit determination and resource estimates at various TV:BIP cut-offs.
  • Support North Mine mine engineering phases, as required.
  • Development of annual Long Term Plan, issued in February of each year, including extraction cost estimate.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Mentoring of junior staff.
  • Development of low cost, high quality and efficient mine plans, with regard to HSE principles and stakeholder concerns.
  • Working with Geology and Extraction staff to ensure optimum development of the Joslyn mining resource.
  • Providing engineering support during the construction phase(s) of the mine, as required.
  • Working within HSE policies as established by TEPC.
 
Required skills
 
Education :
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mine Engineering
  • APEGGA membership required
Experience :
  • Minimum 10 years experience in surface mining, preferably in oil sands
  • familiarity with AutoCAD; knowledgeable in the use of mine planning software an asset
Skills :
  • Highly motivated and self-starter
  • Team player
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Effective time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
 
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada*
