Overview
The HR Manager is responsible for day-to-day HR operations and long range HR planning at refining facilities. The incumbent, as lead Human Resources Business Partner, is expected to have commensurate knowledge and ability to lead other Human Resource professionals and Refinery Leadership Teams in the strategic management of all personnel and personnel related activities (Utilization of all Employee and Manager Self-Service processes; management of labor and employee related issues; workforce planning; lead local Talent Management processes; acting in concert with the business to align business goals with employee development strategies and to facilitate the completion of those goals through others). This position also acts as the key HR consultant to the Refinery Leadership Team and other key refinery personnel to assist in the resolution of complex Human Resources issues and for the optimization of Human Resource strategies.
Job Description
The HR Manager may be responsible for:
Providing HR leadership and support to refinery management in developing and implementing effective people strategies to enable the goals of the refinery. This includes developing a full understanding of the functions’ business and goals so that people strategies are value adding and targeted to address specific business strategies and needs.
Providing HR direction, consultation, advice and support to managers regarding compensation, performance management, employee relations, development, training, diversity, staffing, talent and succession management issues.
Consulting with the COEs (Centers of Excellence) on the particular needs of the refinery, e.g., staffing, employee relations, industrial relations, compensation, benefits, expatriate administration, career development, and talent management.
Serves on the business leadership team for the refinery.
Coaches/counsels senior managers and serves as a thinking partner.
Supervises HR Staff who support the refinery.
Executing on operational HR activities needed by the business which support the business strategy and long range plan.
Manages other activities/duties that are deemed critical in the Refinery (may include Non-Core HR activities, like Community Relations and Medical).
Facilitating functional Talent Management Team (TMT) activities that identify high potential employees, bench strength for positions and gaps.
Coordinating college recruiting and summer intern program in conjunction with corporate recruiting and intern programs.
Qualifications
Legally authorized to work in the United States on a regular full-time basis without restrictions.
Bachelors degree
Ten years of direct experience in Human Resources.
Ten years of direct experience working in labor relations
