Responsibilities:

Ensure safe implementation of site works in accordance with Project Execution Plans, Legislation and Site Standards
Detailed planning, coordination and interfacing of construction activities within continuous operating plant environment.
Responsible for nominated construction budgets and schedules
Responsible for related Quality Assurance and Project Construction procedures
Complete assigned project(s) in compliance with client expectations, company objectives, and all contractual documentation;
Monitor progress, ensuring that work quality and techniques are of a high standard, and report regularly on project performance
and cost against company objectives;
Create and maintain strong working relationships to ensure a long lasting relationship is fostered.
Ensure that contractors comply with all aspects of the Worksite HSE Plan and policy; site regulations, permit to work and Client requirements.
Ensure that construction contractors adhere to the latest approved for construction (AFC) project drawings, specifications, procedures and site instructions.
Ensure by leadership and guidance, that civil contracted works meets all practical , commercial, requirements of productivity, quality and contract target completions.
Supervise and coordinate the activities of construction contractors.
Maintain daily supervisory surveillance checks and records ensuring that contractors management and supervision are providing safe working conditions and permitting procedures, all required competent personnel, protective equipment, adequate supervision and manpower, with reliable , well maintained equipment to execute the contracted works as per contract schedule and targets.
Routinely study, check and review all contractor scope as detailed in drawings, specifications and instructions , ensuring contractors proper interpretation and compliance with the lasted AFC drawings and specifications.
Ensure proper change control by issuing Field Instructions for all changes, reviewing Technical Queries to ensure responses are appropriate and practical, and reviewing Advanced Revision notices prior to issue to contractors to ensure correct use of construction resources.
Ensure contractors dimensional control methods for checking that the works are properly set out.
Supervise specialist surveying contractors where necessary.
Ensure supervisors carry out the witness , inspection and surveillance checks in accordance with the Quality Plan and the requirements of the Quality Control Manager.
Ensure that contractors are working in the required work areas , locations and elevations and that work sequence and interfaces with other contactors are both co-ordinated and planned to provide continuous working to meet contract schedules.
Ensure that all quality control checks and tests are instigated, with records maintained and available as required for concrete mix design, batching operations, concrete pour, foundation release, grouting release, area release in accordance with contractors ITP.
Ensure effective control and design of all falseworks, shuttering and formworks.
Check that access roads/routes and equipment are in accordance with practical temporary works procedures and calculations.
Where necessary, ensure competent technical review of temporary works design etc.
Ensure practical security and protection of the works and that all contractors provisions for temporary plant are fit for purpose.
Ensure that all construction materials, embedded items , special fixtures are approved for use and that they are stored ,protected and available to workface locations as required.
Agree method statements and JHA,s .
Ensure that work is carried out in accordance with the agreed method statements.
Ensure that a risk assessment has been undertaken and agreed prior to commencement of any new type of work activity.
Maintain supervisory attendance at Tool Box talk and pre start meetings.
Promote and maintain Client and contractor best practice working relationships.
Maintain site diary to reflect an accurate record of the status of works surveillance and inspections performed, contractor manpower and deployment etc.
Attend Contractor progress meetings as required.

Requirements:

Relevant qualifications in Civil Engineering;
10 + years experience in a similar role within a heavy industry/civil construction environment;
Strong commitment to safety
Demonstrated leadership abilities;
A strong customer and team focus.
Sound problem solving abilities
Excellent level of initiative
Ability to lead and direct other on construction projects
Live Plant experience is required.
