Responsibilities:
·         The Development Geologist is responsible for:
·         Geological expertise on a multi-disciplinary asset team handling active field development projects (operations & asset development), as well as some exploration and business development opportunities.  In addition, a number of resource assessments are underway and need to be further developed in order to generate more inventory.
·         Showing creativity and innovation to generate development drilling locations, assess opportunities to participate in outside operated wells and identify bypassed or unrecognized pay intervals to accelerate production, improve recovery, and add reserves.
·         Working in a team environment to provide geological expertise in order to generate opportunities for drilling development wells or recompleting existing wells.  Ability to work in a multi-discipline team and to keep management informed is critical.
·         Evaluating economics and assessing risk for development proposals.
·         Representing ConocoPhillips in meetings with partners and government agencies.
·         Utilizing appropriate geoscience technology to optimize exploitation of mature fields.  Understanding and integrating sequence stratigraphic concepts, especially for siliciclastic depositional systems, for nonmarine and marine environments, is critical for success.
·         Mentor less senior staff and/or interns.
 
Qualifications:
·         Basic/Required Qualifications
·         Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Geophysics.
·         Five years  or more of industry experience as a petroleum geologist.
·         Five years of direct experience working with geophysicists and engineers in a team environment to generate development drilling locations, evaluate production and reserves, and recommend operations to optimize production, increase recovery, and add reserves. 
·         Five years of direct experience, by the drillbit, with applying sequence stratigraphic principles and sedimentologic models for oil and gas reservoirs.  
·         Three years of experience with Petra, PowerLog, SeisWorks and ZMAP, or similar programs.
·         Five years of direct experience combining core and core analyses, petrophysical and petrographic information, and well performance data into an integrated reservoir description.
