We are building a new dynamic entity, the Energy Resources Conservation Board (ERCB) to focus on Alberta’s regulatory framework for the oil and gas sector. The new ERCB is being created to strengthen and enhance our regulatory capacity to address the ever changing Western sedimentary basin and the expanding oil sands sector.

As an HR professional, you will be an experienced generalist who will be a significant contributor in the delivery of quality human resources services and counsel to various client groups.
Your accountabilities will include:
· providing generalist human resources services in employee recruitment and selection, compensation and benefits, interpretation of policy, performance management, organizational development, coaching and employee relations
· establishing and maintaining a collaborative working relationship with client groups by being accessible for consultation regarding interpersonal communication and problem solving, as well as policy and practice interpretation;
· in partnership with client groups, develop appropriate recruitment strategies to address the unique needs of their group within the ERCB; the majority of the recruitment work will be IT focused, however, additionally there may be a variety of other positions to recruit for based on the client groups assigned
· proactively reviewing and recommending changes where required to ensure that human resource administrative and transactional processes are current, effective, documented and accessible, and applied consistently by HR advisors to client groups
· working closely with other Human Resources specialists to represent the interests of client groups with respect to HR policies and practices
· contributing to the development and implementation of effective employee communications and relations strategies
· guiding and mentoring other human resource staff
Qualifications
As the ideal candidate, you will possess a minimum of three to five years human resource generalist experience in addition to a Bachelor degree or Diploma in a relevant discipline (HR Management, Business, and/or IT or other applicable curriculum). Also you will have completed or be working towards your CHRP certification.
Your experience will also include:
· demonstrated experience in the areas of recruitment and retention, compensation and benefits, and performance management
· proven experience with Behavioral interviewing techniques
· in-depth experience recruiting for IT positions or have had experience as an IT professional
· demonstrates continuous learning and keeps current with the latest IT information and industry trends
· ability to understand the skill profiles, responsibilities and qualifications for the various IT positions being recruited for.
· proven experience in the coordination of projects from inception through implementation including maintenance of appropriate documentation
· outstanding interpersonal communication, consultation, and coaching skills.
· superior communication skills demonstrated by your ability to prepare, present and evaluate ongoing programs for your client groups
· excellent analytical, planning and decision-making abilities
· a reputation as strong a team player
