Responsibilities:
Assist in creating, reviewing and maintaining equipment documentation: specification, design report, manufacturing quality plan, integration and test procedures.
orm conceptual design and high level mechanical engineering analysis of deck layout and surface handling equipment.
Participate in equipment design reviews.
Provide engineering support as required on site during construction, testing, mobilization and related operations.
Advise the operation team on engineering/procedural issues ensuring the technical integrity of the system at all times.
Produce comprehensive as built documentation for the handling equipment.
Specify equipment and services requirements and assist as required in providing workscopes, sourcing suppliers and evaluating proposals.
Interface as required with external suppliers or subcontractors on all technical issues concerning the workscope and follow up on all relevant issues.
Provide project planning and coordination for the package.
Coordinate integration of all subcontracted activities and ensure deliveries are in line with project schedule.
Liaise as required with other PEs on technical issues where interfaces exist and with support functions such as procurement, structural design, drafting, remote systems etc. where necessary.
Identify and highlight any significant issues which arise concerning the workscope, in particular related to areas of risk, significant commercial impacts and any areas which may result in a change to the contractual workscope.
Ensure all activities are carried out in strict compliance with the internal quality management systems, client specifications if any, and relevant industry standards.
Assist in qualifying components by designing testing procedures, conducting tests and documenting test results.
Provide timely corrective actions on all non conformances, defects and material issues raised by manufacturers, fabricators or suppliers.
Ensure that safety concerns are a priority during all phases of the work and that safety issues are addressed during the engineering. Prepare technical presentation for any Hazid sessions concerning the workscope and ensure all hazid items related to the engineering are satisfactorily closed out.
Successfully complete required Company safety training.
Requirements:
Bachelor degree in structural, mechanical or civil engineering.
Extensive experience as a Project Engineer or Structural Designer in the oilfield engineering industry preferably acquired while working for an equipment manufacturer, a subsea construction contractor, or a drilling contractor.
Good knowledge and understanding of the applicable structural design and manufacturing codes (AISC) and industry standards (API, ANSI, DnV) is required.
Working knowledge of designing structural installation aids and mechanical and hydraulic handling systems (crane, winches) in a marine environment would be an advantage.
Proficient in writing specifications, testing and operation procedure.
Utilization of structural design software and/or CAD would be an advantage.
Utilization of Microsoft tool (MS project, Excel and MS Word) for establishing project planning and project follow up.
Can function independently and in a team.
Good communication skills to facilitate meeting and discussions, and interact with peer groups and management, advising on their area of responsibility.
