This position is responsible for the overall management of the quality control program for all electrical and instrumentation maintenance and industrial construction projects. The QA/QC Manager will build relationships with all Project, Construction, and Client Managers to effectively lead the quality processes to achieve project requirements. This position will be responsible for indirect supervision of site quality personnel.
 
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain and update Quality Management Program in compliance to regulatory and client requirements
  • Establishing product and process control procedures and process in conjunction with other project managers
  • Assisting in the documentation and analysis of process versus objectives / goals
  • Provide leadership and advice to project managers for process development, management, and continuous improvement
  • Facilitate sessions with site specific quality and project management positions to identify improvements to the quality program
  • Ensures all quality control requirements are in compliance, including leading/setting up the inspection and test plans (ITP) of systems and installations which are in progress or completed according to code.
  • Performs internal audits on activities against contractors quality control plans.
  • Maintains audits, surveillance records and the required post activity follow ups
  • Ensure the timely completion of work/turnover packages as required by the client
  • Completion of non-conformance reports (NCR)
  • Prepare QA/QC cost and schedule estimates to support client Request for Information (RFI)
  • Develop reports which include trend results and costs for management information
Qualification and skills
  • 10+ years experience in the electrical and instrument industry in oil and gas, or industrial construction projects
  • 5 years direct experience related to working within a QA/QC department in either Inspector or Management roles
  • 2+ years supervisory or managerial experience
  • Post Secondary Education in Engineering is desirable; or Completion of Certified Journeyman Trade Ticket in
  • Electrical and Instrumentation with a combination of progressively responsible field experience
  • Confident to interpret the Canadian Electrical Code
  • Certification as Level II or III Inspector recognized by the provincial quality authority would be an asset
  • Strong organizational skills to properly coordinate large volume activities and meet deadlines
  • Exceptional customer service skills to effective build relationships with both internal/external stakeholders
  • Effective negotiation skills
  • Research, analytical and planning, and change management skills
  • Provide Leadership to a growing quality team
  • Demonstrated ability to work with all programs in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
  • Work effectively as a team
