Position Summary
Reporting to the Construction Supervisor, you will be a part of a Calgary based team who are responsible to coordinate the construction of drilling sites/facilities within our Western Canada operations and to direct a team of field Consultants.
Responsibilities include the following:
· Providing support and direction to construction field consultants;
· Working closely with drilling, completions, surface land and exploration groups to ensure wells get drilled on time and on budget;
· Qualifying contractors, analyzing bids and selecting services to achieve optimal results;
· Working with Drilling Waste Coordinator to implement [Company]’s drilling waste disposal procedures;
· Identifying, prioritizing and coordinating [Company]’s construction activities for wells and access roads with all [Company] operational groups to maximize efficiencies and seasonal advantages;
· Ensuring regulatory compliance and high work quality for all of [Company]’s construction projects;
· Reviewing high impact projects both for cost reconciliation and effectiveness and timeliness. Based on the review, implement changes where required on future projects;
· Staying informed of regulatory changes and communicating these changes to the appropriate personnel;
· Assisting in implementing procedures to reduce safety incidents;
· Inspect field operations as required;
· Participating in various regulatory, industry and stakeholder groups and committees as required; and
· Other duties as required.
Candidate must have at least 5 years of Construction experience in the oil and gas industry which includes a field based component. A related degree or diploma will be considered an asset. In addition, a strong understanding of the regulatory requirements as they pertain to Western Canadian oil and gas operation is required. The ability to be an effective team leader is essential. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, along with accuracy and attention to detail are a must. The candidate must also have proficient computer skills.
