We are currently recruiting for the following position.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Provide support of key HR practices such as succession planning, workforce planning, performance based compensation, etc;
- Develop and generate HR reports, track trends and identify issues and opportunities for improvement;
- Provide recruitment support for the East Coast region:
- Compose internal & external job postings
- Prepare behavioral based interview guides
- Participate in interviews as required
- Handle day-to-day employment inquiries
- Resume screening
- Coordinate training activity for the East Coast region and ensure accurate records are kept;
- Provide Industrial Relations support for the East Coast Region:
- Assist with preparation of materials for arbitration and/or Labour Relations Board hearings;
- Grievance tracking;
- Assist with development of IR/HR seminar materials
- Track & analyze leave requests;
- Provide back-up and support to Human Resource Business Advisors as required;
- Review and update East Coast HR Emergency Response plan, assist in training of Family Telephone responders and participate as a member of the East Coast Emergency Response team.
Capability Requirements - Specific Functional/Technical Skills:
- Relevant degree (or equivalent) in Business Administration or Commerce with major course work in Human Resources or Labour Relations
- Two years of HR generalist experience including some experience in recruitment & selection practices
- Knowledge and understanding of behavioural interviewing techniques;
- Strong analytical and reporting skills;
- Knowledge of human resource systems and processes.

- Ability to build strong relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization
- Excellent leadership, communication & decision-making skills;
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong planning & organization skills
- Ability to work independently in an environment where priorities change.
Qualified candidates shall have a relevant degree in (or equivalent) in Business Administration or Commerce with major course work in Human Resources or Labour Relations and two years of HR generalist experience including some experience in recruitment & selection practices.
Qualified residents of the province of Newfoundland and Labrador will be given first consideration in the staffing of this position.
