Responsibilities:
Co-ordinate the day-to-day operations for cargo imports and exports, in order to ensure the efficient, economic, safe and contractually compliant movement of oil, feedstocks, intermediates and finished products into and out of Refinery.
This role covers the operational responsibilities from the time a deal is struck by the Trader through to invoice payment.
Maintain a continuous dialogue with refinery Planning, terminal , Group Trading , Crude Co-ordination, other Group entity, and other members of Supply & Refining Department, on shipping operations, in order to contribute to the optimisation of refinery operations.
Be familiar with, and understand the terms and conditions contained in the governing sale and purchase contracts, and advise on matters of an operational nature during the negotiation of contracts.
Liaise with, and inform refinery, Group trading, ship’s owners & agents, cargo surveyors and suppliers & customers to ensure the successful delivery or receipt of cargoes within contractual terms.
Monitor the fulfilment of contractual obligations by Total UK and its counter parties.
Minimise costs such as demurrage, berth occupancy and inspection, wherever possible.
Ensure the distribution of accurate information relating to cargo imports and exports, via SAP for invoice payment, accounting and reporting of results.
Responsible for the preliminary calculation of demurrage claims, contribute to identifv and explain them .
Verification of contracts issued by all suppliers and customers and responsible for ensuring that amendments relating to operational matters are rectified.
Maintain follow up of all shipping movements handled by Trading Operations, deal files to record status of each deal through the completion , database to record product, feedstocks and petchem trading activity.
Manage the Cirrus modelling tool to ensure optimisation of the Immingham berths and provide detailed reporting for capital expenditure proposals.
Be available ‘on-call’ to handle any refining and shipping issues as they arise.
Provide cover in the absence of the Trading Operations Manager or one other of Trading Operations team .
SAP SuperUser for Supply & Refining Department.
Charter vessels for trading movements and appoint cargo surveyors when required.
Co-ordinate arrangements for third party hired storage ( ISCO ) .
Ensure all fiscal documents are in place , correct and on schedule.
Perform related ad-hoc studies and projects.
Requirements:
Experience in a similar operational jobs.
Good understanding of refining, shipping and trading (including contracts & market conditions) and HMCE requirements .
Broad understanding of both contracts and shipping law.
Extensive knowledge of products qualities, sensitivities, and production processes.
Working knowledge of trading contracts and market economics.
Cost management experience.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Highly numerate.
Sound IT experience (including SAP, Excel, Word and Lotus Notes).
Rigorous attention to detail.
Understanding of, and commitment to, HSEQ matters.
Educated to degree level in a related discipline
Working knowledge of French advantageous
Basic knowledge of refinery processes and economics
Experience in a similar operational jobs.
