Responsibilities:
Prepares detailed step-by-step drilling, workover and completion programs for execution on rig site as per PED well proposals and objectives.
Carries out all drilling and workover operation engineering duties related to assigned offshore or land rigs.
Plans and specifies drilling equipment and materials and services required for each well.
Plans and designs the most cost effective and trouble free directional and horizontal well paths and ensures care is taken to minimize formation damage or deviation from geological targets by daily monitoring and revision (if necessary) of drilling operations.
Provides the onsite engineering technical expertise and supervision during casing cementation, cement squeezing, milling, fishing and drill stem testing and well killing operations.
Plans and optimizes rig move for the assigned rig through preparation of rig schedule/drilling sequence.
Prepares final well report and failure/success reports.
Participates in the training and development of assigned trainees, departmental well cost budget and cost control implementation and in contract preparation and evaluation as required.
Requirements:
BS in Petroleum Engineering plus relevant specialized industry courses in drilling, cementing, mud engineers, horizontal and directional drilling, completion, drilling bit/wellhead and well control certification.
Must be computer literate.
At least 6 years of drilling engineering/well site operations.
