Areas of Accountability
Safety
· Individual is aware of relevant (Emerson, customer, etc.) safety policies and procedures.
Project Execution
· Follows established engineering Project Management Office processes.
· Actively contributes to the development and completion of designs and specifications according to documented standards.
· Actively contributes to the development, final preparation, and evaluation of supplier bid packages.
· Participates in the execution of procedures for factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing, commissioning, and startup activities.
· Participates in the creation of customer training material.
· Reviews as-built drawings and documents.
· Monitors the progress of their own task's to ensure that project expectations with regards to schedule, budget, and scope are achieved.
· Identifies projected deviations from initial estimates in a timely manner and communicates to project lead.
Complexity
· Performs varied assignments requiring general familiarity with field of specialty.
· Uses a variety of combinations of standard or modified procedures, techniques, or methods developed in previous assignments.
· Individual may rely on the judgment of others for validation of approach.
Technical Leadership
· Develops an understanding of technical projects; becomes involved with the technical leadership of projects.
· Develops an understanding and applies best practices.
· Actively participates in all training opportunities that are assigned.
· Participates in the creation of internal training material.
Project Mentoring
· Actively participates in the acquisition of knowledge and experience through partnering with a more senior technical staff member.
Customer Interface
· Interacts with external organizations as an Emerson representative.
Authority
· Performs work according to well defined objectives and desired results; informed guidance is readily available.
· Contributes to the technical evaluation and approval process by providing technical expertise based on training and broad field of experience.
· Technical problems are usually solved through the use of combinations of standard procedures, modifications of standard procedures, or methods developed in previous assignments.
· Work is not usually subject to technical review but is subject to technical approval prior to start of the work.
Technical Qualifications
· 4 years automation electrical design experience on Greenfield and Brownfield projects.
· CET with ASET
Qualifications
Four-year Bachelor of Science degree (B.Sc.) in engineering or computer science from an accredited university, plus a member in good standing with a professional engineering licensing authority OR a two-year diploma in a technical discipline OR an engineering degree from a foreign technical institute or university OR a four-year degree in commerce, economics, or related field (sales only).
· 4-6 years of experience with a bachelor degree.
· 6-8 years of experience with a technical diploma.
