Primary Focus
Coordinates equipment and commodity vendor shop inspection activities. Provides quality management expertise to the procurement group to support the execution phase of Enbridge's mainline capital pipeline projects in Canada as required, including all issues related to quality management system (QMS) implementation for procurement work processes within the Enbridge procurement group.
The scope of practice is firstly focused on the safe, efficient and effective execution of procurement processes, facilitating compliance with requirements through the development and effective implementation of project quality management systems.
Responsibilities
- Work with the procurement team to ensure that work orders are issued for inspection of equipment and commodities as required.
- Work with the Supplier Lead Auditor, QMS to ensure that the appropriate inspection level is applied to each individual work order, with respect to established Inspection and Test Plans and previous experience with the specific type of equipment and vendor
- Assist with the assessment of the effectiveness of quality planning to ensure that process controls and requisite product and service verification and inspection arrangements are established and adequately resourced for purchased equipment and commodities.
- Work with appropriate project quality coordinators to ensure that the procurement quality management system is developed and implemented to assure compliance with all project, regulatory and contractual requirements.
Qualifications
- Prefer ASQ Certified Quality Auditor - This role will require certification within twelve months of hire.
- The incumbent will typically possess a college or university degree.
- Prefer a minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible pipeline related inspection coordination experience.
- Technical knowledge of project quality management techniques and tools, and of the principles and practices of quality management and the implementation and improvement of management system
- Have strong organizational skills, command of electronic documents and templates.
- The ability to apply sound document control and record management practices, high level of literacy using Lotus Notes and Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Visio and Project)
- High level of verbal communication and literacy, and the ability to adapt to significant changes in systems and procedures.
- Knowledge of standard administrative processes
- Knowledgeable in navigation and function of Enbridge procurement quality management procedures.
