Responsibilities:
Design of structural and mechanical handling equipment
Preparation of design, details and specifications for manufacture
Preparation of design calculations for submission to Class Society
Preparation of Installation and Testing Plans
Liaison with manufacturing companies
Preparation and review of Factory Acceptance, Site Integration and Site Acceptance procedures and specifications
Requirements:
Self motivated individual who is able to fit into an existing close knit team
Articulates views in comprehensive manner
Produces work of the first quality and sets self and subordinates high expectations
Able to integrate into a large engineering team
Broad knowledge of mechanical and structural practices
Able work without close supervision
Relevent degree in mechanical or civil/ structural engineering
Experience of ship construction practices advantageous
Experienced of design submissions
Experience of formal engineering and design control processes
Can plan and prioritise own workload
Cooperative team player to form part of a large multidiscipline project team
Must be physically fit for required position subject to reasonable adjustments
