Responsibilities:
To assume technical responsibility for the design and implementation of software solutions for work packages as required.
To carry out maintenance and investigation activities at Aberdeen or offshore/offsite as required.
To assist Service Support in providing support to Icon SCU and other MCS installed base systems
To supervise Software Engineers and Junior Software Engineers.
To take financial responsibility for own and subordinates workscopes
Supervise workscope performance to maintain quality and budgetary levels and improve On Time Delivery.
Raise the AST groups abilities and knowledge of all recent Controls projects.
Participate in execution Icon SCU projects as appropriate.
Demonstrate commitment to Operating Procedure and the processes of continuous improvement.
Ensure all work activities are in accordance with AKS procedures.
Provide first point engineering support to Subsea personnel in the field as required.
Demonstrate commitment to department processes and assist the AST manager with the process of continuous improvement.
Operational software support of delivered Control Systems as required, primarily Icon SCU.
Produce technical solutions achieving time and budgetary requirements.
Provide support to Projects, Products, Service Support and Manufacturing as required.
Produce technical investigations and reports for review by supervisor.
Ensure allocated workscopes are produced within budget and timescale.
Monitor allocated workscopes and report current status, estimate to complete and resource requirements to Team Leader.
Assist Team Leader with estimates of effort and best technical solution at bid stage.
Assist Team Leader to ensure members work together as a team.
Any other reasonable duties deemed necessary by immediate supervisor, including those of Engineer grade.
Requirements:
Qualified in a Computer/Software discipline.
Knowledge of Control systems –
PLCs, PCs and DCSs
Computer systems operation/configuration
Demonstrable previous supervisory experience required.
Excellent people management / performance management ability
Knowledge of -
