Job Description
The Service Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management, development, direction, scheduling, and staffing of Technical Advisors (TAs) for all oil and gas products in N. America and specific products globally while regionalizing.
Manage TA resource execution to ensure customer and business needs and metrics are met. Ensure resources meet customer commitments and hub / region / operations objectives.
Manage the TA Coordinator for coordination of TA mobilizations to customer sites.
Support Project Management, Finance, and other functions as necessary for the setup, execution, and closeout of all projects.
Assist in the management / development of customer relationships that keep and / or make GE Oil & Gas the service provider of choice.
Hire, manage, and ensure proper training, development, and career coaching for all TAs.
Capture best practices for implementation into applicable operational and quality procedures and processes and provide input to quality, standardization, and company initiatives for the improvement of the installation and field service process.
Provide leadership to ensure business financial goals are met by managing TA utilization, hourly cost, and other metrics.
Assist in developing short and long-range resource plans based on resource forecasts and region business commitments including recruitment, skill reviews, and resource development through advanced level training.
Support the TA Scheduling and Training Leader with all training needs for TAs and ensure certification goals and training needs are met.
Support integration of the North American products into regional / hub sites within GE Oil & Gas.
Liaise with internal GE groups across the globe, to develop strong relationships with cross-functional teams and critical suppliers.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years related work experience in engineering or field service, with 3+ years experience in project execution.
Professional Mechanical Engineer or other mechanical technical experience.
Strong PC experience with MS Office proficiency.
