Job Description:
 
Our exciting projects include multi-billion dollar developments in the Northern Alberta oil sands, offshore operations in Eastern Canada, international exploration offshore China and Indonesia, and large-scale ethanol projects in Western Canada.  We are in the process of building an integrated project team who will implement tools and best practices to enable consistent success in project execution for the organization. We are seeking highly-motivated professionals eager to join a growing and diverse team, with global experience, who will have a significant impact on our bottom line.
 
Our Commercial group has two challenging opportunities for a Contracts Administrator-Central Process Facilities and a Field Contracts Administrator-Field Facilities.  You will work with the Contracts Lead to provide administrative support to manage the Sunrise Oil Sands Project and subsequent post award contract management.
 
This position requires a rotation schedule at Fort McMurray (earliest mobilization Q1 2009). The rotation is yet to be determined, but will likely be regularly scheduled eg. several weeks in - several weeks out.
 
You will be responsible for maintaining contracts material and liaising commercial contract resources between the Commercial team and EPC contractors.  In this role, you will also maintain all contracts and service agreements within the Commercial group and will be the point person for distributing materials and communications to contractors.
 
To ensure Commercial contracts are properly handled key responsibilities would include:
  • Manage all contract material and resources as the primary contact for the Commercial group
  • Support the Contracts Lead by coordinating communication and contractual collateral between the Commercial group and EPC contractors
  • Assist the Contracts Lead and Commercial Specialist by:
  • Performing variations and contractual amendments
  • Preparing general correspondence for EPC contractors
  • Verifying contract application terms, specifications and conditions
  • Gathering contracts, reports and certificates
  • Creating all hard copy contractual collateral and material
  • Coordinate and assist with the facilitation of contract execution and maintenance
  • Ensure all agreed schedules and deadlines are adhered to by Contractors
  • Recommend initiatives for improving processes to expedite contractual material more effectively and promptly
  • Track expenditure; identify and report discrepancies and process re-submissions for increased approvals
  • Provide day-to-day administrative support for the Commercial group
Qualifications
 
Our ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
  • A technical or business diploma, coupled with
  • 10+ years related experience in the Oil and Gas industry, OR
  • An equivalent combination of training and business experience
  • Related experience will include working in a contracts administrator role, on billion dollar mega projects ideally with an Engineering Procurement & Construction (EPC), Contracting, and/or Petroleum company
  • Experience residing in remote and/or camp project sites would be beneficial
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with SAP
  • Strong reporting skills and proven ability to use a database to capture, trend and report information
  • Strong attention to detail with a demonstrated ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal and team skills
  • Exceptional communication skills with an ability to converse professionally and effectively with personnel from all levels of an organization
  • Demonstrated ability to handle and respect confidential information
