Job Description:
 
[Company] has an Environmental Engineering Co-op/Internship position available for a 4, 8, 12, or 16 month term starting in September 2008.  This position falls within [Company] Health, Safety & Environment department and will work with the Midstream and Downstream Environmental Operations group.
 
Responsibilities may include:
  • Assisting environment auditor in conducting on-site audits and audit write-up
  • Assisting project managers with remedial projects, conducting environmental liability studies, air quality studies, assisting with environmental liability ranking, waste and soil and groundwater projects
  • Working with various databases to collect information and conducting research using the internet or other resources
  • Interacting with members of the project teams and operational groups will be an important aspect of this position
Qualifications
Our ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
  • Must be currently enrolled in a University Co-op or Internship program
  • Strong academic background in environmental engineering
  • Some oil and gas experience would be an asset
  • Computer skills (MS Office and databases) are essential
  • Must be able to work effectively in a team environment
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
Requirements:
  • This position requires the incumbent to operate a vehicle for which a valid driver's license is required.
  • The final candidate(s) will be required to provide a recent (ie. issued within previous 4 weeks) original driver's abstract for a 5 year period, prior to starting work with Husky, for review by our Health and Safety group.
Note:
  • This is a safety sensitive role and as such you will be required to pass the Husky pre-employment and drug/alcohol assessment requirements.
