Overview
The Operations Technician will play a key role in delivering critical production issues using higher order skills including: troubleshooting, analysis, problem solving, critical thinking, diagnostic and reasoning ability. The Operations Technician works closely with technical resources to provide a high level of technical expertise and/or first level maintenance. The Operations Technician may be dispatched by the Technical Resource to remove control system failures/problems, address prioritized needs and production issues based on his/her skill mix. The Operations Tech is considered a Multi-skilled position. The Operations Technician will have a primary and secondary skill, however it is expected that he/she will have a demonstrated level of proficiency with both.
Accountabilities Include:
- Be responsible for daily production optimization, integrity, and maintenance of full suite of wellsite and facility flow process equipment from wellhead to custody transfer point.
- Troubleshoot production performance, wellsite and facility flow process equipment and components for optimum performance and operating efficiency.
- Utilize work order, planning and scheduling processes as cost management tools.
- Ensure efficient use of consumables such as chemicals, etc.
- Utilize automation, choke model and engineering as key tools and resources.
- Assure appropriate reporting, data collection, training certification and regulatory compliance, including specific Operation Center operating and maintenance standards and procedures.
- Perform required duties as part Incident Management Plan during emergencies, including securing wellsite and specific facility flow process equipment.
- Monitor corrosion for both maintenance and prevention.
- Communicate effectively with cross functional work teams.
- Remain competent in teamwork skills and working with various wellsite and facility flow process equipment and components.
Required Qualifications: To be considered for the role of Operations Technician applicants must have:
- Legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
- A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of 2 years of natural gas wells operational experience.
- Proficient general computer skills.
- The willingness and ability to travel up to 10% of the time in order to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.
Preferred Qualifications:
In addition to the required qualifications the successful candidate is likely to be able to demonstrate:
- An Associate’s Degree or higher in a technical field.
