Job Description
 
  • Review and amend order entry to release to production process to make as efficient and cost-effective as possible.
  • Assess immediate and long-range product needs and goals and make recommendations that meet the company objectives/plans.
  • Make decisions/recommendations that deal with design reviews, value engineering, manufacturing suitability studies, etc.
  • Interface with R&D and insure that all final work meets proper engineering principles, standards and technical policies. Supplement with manpower and technical assistance as needed.
  • Must be available and willing to travel to such locations and with such frequency as the employer determines necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.
  • Establish and maintain salary and budgetary controls for the Engineering department.
  • Assessment and interpretations of tender specifications.
  • Engineering support for quotations and proposals.
  • Engineering of new products for execution of Sales Order including SS wellheads, SC&P, CDE, TLP and SPAR equipment.
  • Manufacturing support.
  • Maintenance of engineering standards and procedures for specific product lines.
  • Should be multi-skilled, able to lead design teams and provide technical support to internal and external customers on relevant product lines.
  • Review design solutions against customer specifications, industry and VetcoGray standards.
  • Conduct technical presentations to major customers in support of Marketing and Sales.
  • Responsible for design control and planning of engineering activities.
  • Plan and organize support for field installations.
  • Monitor and enforce all applicable quality health, safety and environmental regulations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or indicated by responsibilities.
  • Perform all duties as assigned by management.
 
Qualifications
 
  • Basic engineering degree in mechanical disciplines, eg. Mechanical Engineering, Offshore Engineering, etc.
  • Strong technical experience (3+ years) in mechanical engineering design on oilfield equipment.
