Job Description
- Preparing accident paperwork (KS-10, KS-8, KE-1) to ensure that appropriate documentation is completed in accordance with company established incident reporting requirements
- Performing Root Cause Analysis and other on-site investigations of all incidents for medical, light-duty, lost time, rig incident, environmental release, high potential close call and at-fault vehicle incidents to determine root cause and include as accident prevention measures
- Conducting work site observations, safety audits and inspections of trucks, rigs, wireline units, production test units, coil tubing units, facilities, etc., providing corrective actions as appropriate, and ensuring districts have adequate safety equipment and necessary PPE
- Conducting safety training/monthly safety meetings for the assigned district, enforcing and promoting safety regulations, policies and procedures, scheduling mandatory training (First Aid, CPR, etc.) and compliance training for all personnel
- Maintaining DOT, OSHA, environmental files, accident files, doctor releases, OSHA Log and other applicable documentation in accordance with requirements and practices
- Performing hazardous waste inspections and waste removal inspections and equipment inspections and reviews inspection results/reports with district/division management for appropriate repairs and/or changes necessary to bring respective areas and/or equipment into compliance
- Providing guidance to management and employees on local, state and federal safety and environmental regulations, including maintaining required permits and communicating safety alerts
- Monitoring and calibrating H2S monitors where applicable
- Attending designated contractor safety meetings to discuss safety issues and concerns
Qualifications
- AAS or BA degree in Safety/Risk Management (or equivalent degree), or equivalent related work experience, or a combination of education/experience
- One to three (1-3) years experience in a safety related field, in well servicing, drilling, oilfield trucking, wire line, pressure pumping, fishing and rental or other oilfield related industry
- Knowledge of various industry safety training (First Aid, CPR, Confined Space, etc.)
- Knowledge of all federal, state and local safety regulations
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to make oral presentations on various safety related topics
- Good computer skills in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
