Job Description:
[Company] Financial Reporting team is seeking a Management Reporting Analyst to join their Management Reporting team. Working closely with the Senior Financial Analyst, Management Reporting, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:
- Operational management reporting (Results of Operations) for distribution to internal parties, ensuring accuracy and consistency with other operational reporting
- Assisting with external reporting including compiling operational tables for Management's Discussion & Analysis (MD&A) reporting
- Assisting business units with ad-hoc queries on reporting
- Management consolidation entries as required for segmented reporting
- Assisting with implementation of policies and procedures that impact operational reporting in a timely manner
- Assisting with the preparation of annual legal entity financial statements
- Providing support for other departments or corporate wide initiatives which require accounting expertise
- Ad-hoc requests and special project involvement as required
Qualifications
Our ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in a related finance or accounting discipline
- A professional accounting designation (or in the process of obtaining a designation) with an understanding of accounting principles and application
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in an oil & gas operational accounting role
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in Business Warehouse, SAP, and Excel
- A problem-solving orientation to identify key issues and recommend appropriate solutions in a proactive manner
- Above average analytical skills and attention to detail to secure relevant information/data and identify key issues
- Pride in quality of work and the ability to handle stress in an environment with tight deadlines
- Excellent communication skills and good judgment in dealing with business contacts and sensitive issues
- A high degree of initiative and self-motivation
- A demonstrated ability to work independently
