[Company] requires a Laboratory Assistant to help coordinate and carry out geotechnical laboratory test, field test, maintaining equipment, quality control standards and assist with field assignments as required.
Duties will include:
- Perform all types of soil and rock laboratory tests to CSA, ASTM or [Company] standards
- Receive, organize and store soil samples
- Keep laboratory in a clean and safe condition at all times
- Ship, receive, store, maintain and calibrate laboratory and field equipment and instrumentation
- Conduct computation and analyses, as required
- Adhere to [Company]’s Best Practice ISO procedures
- Be willing to work flexible and extra hours at prevailing rates to complete work to meet schedules
- Work under general supervision
The ideal candidate will have:
- 2+ years experience in soil testing (New grad an option based on school experience)
- Diploma in Civil Technology or equivalent
- Exceptional people skills
- Flexibility to handle a broad range of tasks
- A can-do attitude
