Responsibilities:
Assist the Regional Contracts Manager in the daily administration of the department.
Perform main contract review (as instructed by Contracts Manager) in the tendering process.
Review main contract obligations that require to be incorporated into subcontracts and passed down to subcontractors.
Assist as required in tendering activities by means of providing input from applicable major subcontractors.
Upon award of a main contract prepare a detailed risk analysis of this main Contract.
Upon award of a main contract call for an internal contracts and administrative kick off meeting – as per our procedures.
Liase with the legal department to ensure that bonds, insurance certificates, guarantees or other documentation required by main contract have been issued.
In conjunction with any other member of the project management team, identify to the Project manager all changes or all suspected changes arising out of the work in accordance with the change order guidelines.
In the event that a dispute arises between us and the Client, liase with legal department and Project management how to protect interest.
Participate in Project planning and establishment of project execution / procurement strategies.
If required assist during the administration of the Projects Subcontracts.
Contribute to the identification of cost and/or risk reducing initiatives.
Attend in relevant SCM and Project meetings.
Requirements:
The Contract Administrator is authorised to carry out his function for the projects and tendering on behalf of the Contracts Manager.
The Contract Administrator is authorised to deal and negotiate with any client or supplier/subcontractor in order to comply with his role description.
Internal
The Contract Administrator shall deal with other Regions required by his role description.
For tendering activities he will interface with the relevant Tender Teams
For Project activities report to the Project Manager for daily operational matters while allocated/assigned to a particular project.
Secondary Education at advanced level or equivalent experience.
At least 8 years experience within Contracts negotiations and international procurement.
