Description
This position is based primarily in the Calgary, requiring possible travel to vendor offices outside of Calgary. As a member of the Surmont Phase 2 Operations Team, this position will supply support to the Operations Team in the area of process automation and control.
Responsibilities
- Typical duties of the Automation Coordinator may include:
- Review of corporate application of Honeywell controls within ConocoPhillips to determine best practices.
- Review of Phase 1 automation design from an operability viewpoint.
- Ensure best practices are implemented into Surmont Phase 2.
- Ensure Phase 1 and 2 automation practices are consistent from an operations and maintenance view.
- Review automation equipment selection.
- Supply input into control room portion of multifunction building.
- During reviews, ensure that controls design supports the automation philosophy.
- Identify automation opportunities as it applies to integrated operations.
- Participate in the development of the data management plan.
Qualifications
Basic/Required Qualifications
- 10 or more years of operating and/or design experience with Honeywell control systems.
- Experience with process simulators.
- Experience in SAGD operations.
- Legally authorized to work on a regular full-time basis in Canada without restrictions
