Description
This position is primarily based in Calgary, requiring possible travel to vendor offices outside of Calgary. As a member of the Surmont Phase 2 Operations Team this position will supply support to the Operations Team in the area of water treatment technology and operability.
Responsibilities
Typical duties of the Water Treatment Specialist may include:
- Supply input into all aspects of water treatment design.
- Participate in RAM analysis of the water treatment systems.
- Review proposed designs with regard to operability.
- Supply input to the review and selection of equipment vendors and proposed equipment.
- Review Phase 1 operating history and identify opportunities for improvement
- Interface with Phase 1 Operations to capture lessons learned.
- Assist other team members in the areas of operability of the water treatment systems.
- Participate in the update of the chemical management plan.
- Guide the development of operating procedures for the water treatment facilities
- Supply required input into the overall operator training plan.
- Supply input to simulator dynamic model.
Qualifications
Basic/Required Qualifications
- 10 or more years of operating experience with applicable water treatment processes.
- Experience in SAGD operations.
- Legally authorized to work on a regular full-time basis in Canada without restrictions
