The Seismic Operations Manager is responsible for all land and marine seismic acquisition for the International and Canadian Divisions. The position will supervise three technologists and discuss performance appraisals, career management and training with these individuals. The position will liaise with the Business Unit G & G Managers, HSE & SR, Supply Management, Legal and Public Relations regarding the seismic projects within the Annual Operating Plan in order that project planning is undertaken to ensure successful completion in a cost effective and timely manner.


The Seismic Operations Manager will assist in the preparation of bid documents and contracts, recommend contract awards, manage the Strategic Supply Agreements [Company] has with seismic acquisition contractors, and work with the Business Unit geophysicists to ensure that optimum geophysical parameters are used on seismic acquisition projects.


The Seismic Operations Manager will ensure that: 1) all Canadian and International geophysical operations are carried out in a safe, efficient, cost effective, socially responsible manner and meet the cost, time and technical requirements of the Business Units; 2) all Canadian and International seismic operations comply with or exceed [Company] HSE & SR standards and targets and meet all applicable Government regulations; and 3) all operations are carried out under the umbrella of Responsible Care guidelines developed for Canada and Yemen.

The successful applicant will have, as a minimum, a B.Sc in Geophysics, 15+ years experience in land and/or marine seismic acquisition, and experience in contract administration. Familiarity with processing, interpretation and potential field methods would be an asset. The Seismic Operations Manager must be registered with APEGGA as a Professional Geophysicist.
