Your duties will include supporting the Formation Evaluation group's activities as they prepare petrophysical, geological and engineering studies for [Company]'s business units. You will manage large volumes of well log and associated well data in maintaining the Corporate well log database (Geolog software). You will also liaise with IT groups to maintain the Geolog application and test new versions, as well as assist the user community with data handling issues and provide technical assistance and training in data loading and preparation of logging data for evaluation. Finally, you will provide technical support to all business units.
Along with a technical degree or diploma, you have an excellent knowledge of well logs and well log analysis. Experience in handling all types of technical well information and associated application databases, such as PPDM and Openworks, is also required, as is familiarity with log quality control, petrophysical analysis, data tracking and quality control on geological studies and reservoir evaluations. Experience with Paradigm's Geolog software would be an asset. You must be able to work with multiple disciplines of expertise in the oil industry.
