The successful candidate will be required to act as the field representative and a liaison between SIR & ERCB regulatory bodies, the Superintendent, foreman, measurement group and Penn West Regulatory group. This position will report directly to the Superintendent in charge of the area. The individual will accomplish this by maintaining a steady field presence, attending required meetings and by completing necessary training as required.
- The role of the field regulatory coordinator is to ensure regulatory compliance with the various regulatory bodies in which the area operates. This role must ensure that any regulatory issues that arise are taken care of in a timely and professional manner and requires close contact with the Calgary Regulatory Affairs group in order to ensure that compliance requirements are handled the same on a corporate basis.
- Help train the operating staff and increase their awareness of issues that affect the company business.
- Conduct spot inspections in order to gauge area compliance issues;
- Train operators on the appropriate site inspections that need to be undertaken;
- Work with operators to ensure all deficiencies found during inspections are addressed;
- Assist/conduct the compilation of the Directive 60 Flare Inventories;
- The Calgary Regulatory Affairs groups ensures that they review any new or revised regulatory requirements to ensure all groups understand the impact to operations and the recommendations to achieve compliance. These requirements should also be reviewed by the Field Regulatory Coordinator at safety meetings, foremen meetings, etc. to ensure the requirements are understood;
- Assist Calgary Regulatory Group on the noncompliance of incorrectly licensed facilities;
- Respond to queries from field staff with regard to various regulatory issues;
- Streamline/enhance current processes as needed to better meet the needs of the operations personnel;
- Perform work as directed by the Superintendent;
- Participate in weekly field safety/Foremen meetings;
- Work closely with local SIR Office.
The above tasks comprise the initial expected job functions. A successful applicant to this dynamic position will further develop this role as they prove themselves capable and the project progresses over time.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILL SET:
- Minimum 3 years field operating experience is essential;
- Must have knowledge of SIR & ERCB Regulations and Processes;
- Attend courses and training as required to fulfill job requirements;
- Be familiar with use of Excel spreadsheets and tracking systems for filing and tracking purposes;
- Residence in the Fort St. John/Grande Prairie Area is preferred
