The Repair & Overhaul Technician will work in an Aerospace R&O environment and will be responsible for repair, overhaul, modification, test, diagnose and inspect faults of electronic, electro-mechanical, mechanical assemblies, and sub-assemblies, of aircraft mechanical and hydraulic fuel and oil systems which have already been removed from the aircraft;conducting process improvement activities using six sigma tools; problem solving and collaborating with operations team, engineering, and quality to resolve issues;interpreting manuals for process applicability and performance.
Essential Tasks/Duties:
· Interpret Component Maintenance and Overhaul Manuals, Service Bulletins, customer equirements, and other technical data approved by the administrator required to perform the repair and overhaul duties at an expert level.
· Perform a preliminary inspection of the unit to include fault isolation, disassembly, cleaning and component inspection.
· Determine the material and order parts required for maintenance.
· Repair/overhaul and assemble the unit in accordance with required technical data to return the unit to service.
· Perform final test of unit in accordance with approved data to determine eligibility for return to service.
· Prioritize and process units in order to meet customer due date coordinating the resources (people and tools) and material as necessary while considering the lag times of ach process.
· Prepare and maintain all detailed repair, inspection and certification records and reports pertaining to his/her work using the applicable data capturing process.
· Process units in accordance with Quality Management System and Repair Station/Quality Manual (Maintenance Policy Manual).
· Identify opportunities and solutions to leadership regarding process improvement opportunities or potential risks
· Be involved in investigations related to product failures, escapes, defects, and low time removals.
· Ability to read and understand Component Maintenance Manuals, Service Literature and other associated approved data pertaining to maintenance.
· Knowledge of applicable process related functions within the facility.
· Understand the operation of designated product families authorized and listed on the Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO) Capability List.
· Understand applicable Transport Canada Civil Aviation Regulations, customer and repair/overhaul requirements for products.
· Be able to read, write, and speak the English language at a working and teaching level.
· Must have good manual dexterity and hand eye co-ordination
· Knowledgeable in computer systems associated with the operations of the AMO.
· Ability to use specific test equipment for products authorized under the AMO capability list.
· Ability to remove and install required lectronic and/or mechanical components
· Experience related to mechanical, electro-mechanical, or electronic devices.
· Technical College diploma (Aviation Maintenance, Gas Turbine) or equivalent experience.
