Job Description
 
  • [Employer], a wholly owned subsidiary of Occidental Petroleum Corporation, manufactures and markets chlor-alkali products and vinyls. [Employer] basic chemicals consist of chlorine, caustic soda, potassium chemicals and their derivatives - the building blocks for many everyday products such as pharmaceuticals, water disinfectants and detergents. [Employer] is also a major producer of vinyl products which include polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and its precursors. PVC resins are used in piping, electrical insulation, construction materials and automotive products.

  • [Employer] is seeking a customer service representative for their Dallas, Texas corporate office. The customer service team is responsible for providing support to customers and sales teams by placing/confirming orders, retrieving information, and solving problems.
  • An ideal candidate must be self-motivated, professional; goals oriented, and possess a sense of urgency.
  • Partners with sales representatives and sales administrators to build and maintain strong customer relationships. Provides daily contact with customers for placing orders or requesting information as well as gaining information about the customers’ product usage/order patterns.
  • Develops and maintain accurate data and documentation regarding customers and sales orders.
  • Responsible for resolving customer complaints by identifying root cause, developing corrective actions, and implementing preventive measures.
  • Responsible for identifying and utilizing the resources necessary for providing quality service to all accounts.
  • Maintains effective communication between sales, marketing, operations and transportation to effectively handle customer inquiries.
  • Participates on customer service teams for internal system improvements and special projects.
  • Administers OxyChem business policies relating to sales orders including lead-time requirements, order control programs, and Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) compliance.
 
Qualifications
 
  • BS Degree, preferably in business, marketing, or communications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software applications
