The ideal candidate will contribute to client development activities through strong leadership of the core CH2M HILL team and by successful delivery of greenhouse gas and strategic service projects to our client. The Project Manager must have demonstrated consulting project execution success for industrial clients in the petrochemical, oil & gas/refining, and/or chemical industries.
The successful candidate must demonstrate industry, subject matter and service expertise within our market.
Responsibilities include ensuring the best technical and business solutions for our client and integrating industrial, subject matter and service expertise, providing front line to risk management for our company.
This candidate will be responsible for managing multiple small to mid-size and up projects. Services supported include greenhouse gas management, other sustainability services, and environmental auditing and compliance.
In this role, you will assist the Industrial Systems Team in the Calgary office to:
· Prepare project proposals,
· Charter, plan and execute projects related to Strategic Services
· Lead teams to deliver greenhouse gas and sustainable service projects for clients
· Conduct business development activities in the area of GHG management,
· Lead teams in auditing and compliance projects
· Manage project financials and project status in accordance with CH2M HILL requirements
Service performed for our clients in these areas include:
· GHG inventory management,
· GHG audits,
· Preparing policy, analysis, and guidance documents,
· GHG strategy workshops,
· Stakeholder engagement activities.
· EMS compliance and audit projects
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications Education: B.S. in engineering or environmental science, particular air quality science, or related field. Years of Experience: 7 Primary Skills: Project Management and technical ability for inventory and systems management projects. Comfort with understanding processes in an industrial setting. Client development skills and strong written/verbal communications are essential for this position. Ability to integrate commercial, technical and execution aspects of project delivery into a full package for client satisfaction and CH2M HILL success are also required skills. Preferred Qualifications: Education: M.S/M.A in chemical engineering or environmental science or related field Years of Experience: 15+ Primary Skills: The ideal candidate will be a project management generalist with a broad background and understanding of environmental emissions, especially as it pertains to the oil & gas and energy sectors. An understanding of EMS systems and compliance auditing would be an additional asset. Specific areas of knowledge, experience, or expertise could include: • GHG regulatory regimes including Alberta • WRI/WBCSD Greenhouse Gas Protocol / ISO14064 Greenhouse Gas Standards • NOx and SOx regulations and approval processes, especially for Alberta and BC • Familiarity with the energy sector, especially oil and gas operations • NPRI reporting • Air emissions permitting • Environmental EMS auditing ISO14001 • Environmental assessment • Preparation of GHG Management Plans Secondary Skills: • Participatory, multi-stakeholder processes • Industrial client organizational policy creation and implementation • energy efficiency • Alternative energy power generation (wind, solar etc) Soft Skills: • Strong communicator - good technical writing and oral presentation skills • Team player • Self directed and motivated • Eager to learn, open to new ideas, comfortable with a minimally structured work environment Keywords: Greenhouse gas,GHG, Management Systems, Auditing
