Information Technology Infrastructure Specialist
Competition # 2008-16
This position will work within the IS Infrastructure Services Team and will participate in the coordination of network, systems, and security requirements for the East Coast region (onshore and offshore).
Specifically, this position will:
- Provide advanced operational support for [Company] East Coast IT systems and coordinate required maintenance throughout the systems lifecycle.
- Coordinate local infrastructure projects in collaboration with East Coast IS teams as well as business unit and Enterprise functional team leaders. This role is the primary infrastructure contact for East Coast business requirements.
- Provide key support to Disaster Recover processes including involvement in the East Coast infrastructure recovery team.
- Collaborates with all [Company] Information Systems team members to ensure an overall effective computing environment to achieve business goals.
Requirements/ Qualifications:
- Qualified candidates shall possess a Business/Computer Science degree or appropriate Technology diploma with at least eight (8) years of demonstrated Infrastructure Systems experience.
- The candidate should have a broad knowledge of Information Technology Infrastructure spanning server and server operating systems (i.e. Windows Server/Linux/Solaris), desktop and mobile systems, local and centralized storage systems, voice/data/video and network communications, systems management, and security systems.
- The position requires the candidate to possess both strong analytical and project management delivery skills in the support of critical business systems and have an understanding of IT governance models such as COBIT and ITIL.
Note:
- This position will initially be based in St. John’s (minimum two years), however, based on work demands, the candidate would be expected to relocate to Petro-Canada’s North American or International offices as directed by I&O management.
- As there is a requirement to support offshore operations, candidates must be medically fit and be able to obtain a Basic Survival Training certificate.
- Qualified residents of the province of Newfoundland and Labrador will be given first consideration in the staffing of this position.
