Job Description:
[Recruiter] urgently requires Electrical Designers for numerous assignments across Western Canada (Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver, Regina, Saskatoon).
- All positions are long term (12 month + ) contracts and include work on multi-year projects.
- Pay rates will be based on level of experience and current market standards.
Responsibilities:
- Senior Electrical Designer is required to design and draft drawings using computer drafting software
- Design single line diagrams for plant MV/LV power distribution system.
- Design substation layouts, grounding layouts, electrical equipment layouts, motor control schematics, control panel layouts, cable layouts, cable tray layouts, lighting layouts, area classification drawings, general plant layouts.
- Prepare area classification drawings in conjunction with electrical engineer and other discipline engineers
- Calculate voltage drops, size conductors, starters, breakers, dis-connects, fuses, cable trays and lighting requirement.
- Develop material list and load list.
- Able to read and extract electrical information from P& IDs and mechanical equipment list.
- Familiar with different stages of EPCM projects.
- Knowledgeable with latest revision of CEC Part 1, C22.1
- Able to work independently and make decisions on technical matters.
- Familiar with electric heat tracing design and fire alarm systems.
- Able to supervise and provide guidance to other CAD designers.
- Be a team player and interface with other discipline team members and Vendors
- Provide on site construction support as required
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent.
- CET Registration with ASET or equivalent
- Experience in any one or more of drafting software - MicroStation, 3D PDS, SmartPlant, AutoCAD, Autoplant / Rebis, INtools.
- Minimum 10 years of Canadian experience.
