Job Profile:
[Recruiter] is currently recruiting for an Instrumentation Designer for a Saskatchewan based opportunity to work in an EPC/M environment on major Engineering/Construction projects in the potash, nickel, uranium and diamond mining industries.
All positions are long term (12 month + ) contracts and include work on multi-year projects. Pay rates will be based on level of experience and current market standards. Out of province applicants qualify for a monthly living allowance. The living allowance varies based on the point of origin.
Candidate should have a strong technical design background with experience on heavy industrial projects such as power supply facilities, large petrochemical plants and refineries; as well as oil and gas production facilities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a variety of design activities including instrument selection, specification and data sheets, wiring and loop diagrams and location plans for mining and metallurgical projects
Responsibilities:
- Instrument selection, specification and detail design
- Installation details and location plans
- Preparation of instrument data sheets
- Vendor document review and approval
- Development of P&IDs
- Preparation of logic, wiring and loop drawings
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Instrumentation design
- Instrumentation / Controls experience in light to heavy industry
- Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment
- Ability to work in both design office and operating plant environments
- Expertise using AutoCAD 2005 and knowledge of 3D design/drafting
