Job Profile:
[Recruiter] is currently recruiting for a Project Services Lead for the position based in Saskatoon.
Reporting to the Manager, Project Services and working alongside other team members locally, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to provide support for a wide variety of project and/or departmental project services functions.
All positions are long term (12 month + ) contracts and include work on multi-year projects. Pay rates will be based on level of experience and current market standards. Out of province applicants qualify for a monthly living allowance. The living allowance varies based on the point of origin.
Responsibilities
- Coordinating and directing of project services staff assigned to the project
- Analyzing and forecasting project costs; as well as developing, preparing and collecting schedule and cost data for monthly project reports
- Creating and managing detailed project information related to contractual schedule, scope and cost
- Reporting project cost and schedule status to management for internal reviews as well as analyzing cost variances and recommending corrective actions
- Participate in earned value analysis activities
- Tracking and analyzing engineering man-hours and associated costs within proprietary management system
- Ensuring all project tasks are identified and resource needs properly estimated
- Preparing and assisting in the development and implementation of project baseline budgets and schedules
- Developing project Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and allocating budgets at appropriate WBS levels for project tasks
- Reviewing project scope change and change order requests for proper justification, schedule impacts, and adequate budget and funding
- Ensuring that relevant cost management procedures and reporting requirements are incorporated where appropriate on invitations to tender
Qualifications
- Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in engineering or a recognized business program
- 10 years of progressive leadership experience in performing project controls functions preferably in an EPCM environment on light to heavy industrial projects
- Excellent knowledge of engineering controls, cost control, planning and scheduling, earned value analysis and project reporting
- Knowledge of procurement/contracts, construction management and document control as well as exposure of mining and mills is preferred
- Ability to work at an advanced level with all Microsoft Office application
- Previous experience working with Primavera scheduling software, Timberline Estimating Software is a must
