Job Profile:
[Recruiter] is currently recruiting Estimators for Saskatchewan based opportunities to work in an EPC/M environment and/or on the site of major Engineering/Construction projects in the potash, nickel, uranium and diamond mining industries.
Reporting to the Manager, Project Services and working alongside other team members locally, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to provide support for a wide variety of project and/or departmental estimating functions.
All positions are long term (12 month + ) contracts and include work on multi-year projects.
Pay rates will be based on level of experience and current market standards. Out of province applicants qualify for a monthly living allowance. The living allowance varies based on the point of origin.
Responsibilities include
- Preparing all levels of capital cost estimates from Order of Magnitude to detail, for mineral processing projects
- Preparing and maintaining appropriate documentation to support estimate preparation and review
- Maintaining the estimating data base
- Obtaining quotations from suppliers and subcontractors to support capital cost estimates
- Establishing good working relationships with staff, engineering discipline leads, department and project managers and clients
- Depending on current projects, leading and/or supervising junior estimating staff
Qualifications
- 10+ years experience in estimating capital costs for minerals processing plants
- Previous experience in cost estimating of mine and mills is an asset
- An engineering degree or engineering technologist diploma is an asset
- Previous experience working with Timberline Estimating Software is an asset
- Effective organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently, accurately and maintain exceptional organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a deadline oriented environment
- Ability to work independently in a multi-disciplinary team environment
