Job Profile:
[Recruiter] is currently recruiting Piping Designers for opportunities based in Saskatoon to work in an EPC/M environment on heavy industrial projects.
There are several positions available in the Mechanical Department ranging from junior to senior and lead positions for Designers, 3D Designer/Specialists, CADD Operators/Drafters and Field Engineers/Technologists.
All positions are long term (12 month + ) contracts and include work on multi-year projects. Pay rates will be based on level of experience and current market standards. Out of province(Saskatchewan) applicants qualify for a monthly living allowance. The living allowance varies based on the point of origin.
Qualifications:
- Candidate should have a strong technical design background and CAD proficiency (preferably with AutoCAD / AutoPlant / MicroStation / PDS / SmartPlant).
- Ideally, the experience should include work on heavy industrial projects such as power supply facilities, mining facilities, large petrochemical plants and refineries, as well as oil and gas production facilities.
Duties will include:
- Prepare drawings related to piping and general mechanical equipment including: layout drawings, general arrangement drawings, process and instrument diagrams, piping isometric drawings, and other drawings and sketches.
- Ensure drawings are checked, approved and filed in accordance with the relevant quality system procedure.
- Prepare drafting-related calculations as required for area of assignment, and have them checked, approved and filed in line with the relevant quality system procedure.
Requirements for this position:
- CET certified, Technical College Graduate
- 5 years Piping drafting and layout experience.
- Proficiency in AutoPlant or PDS is preferred
- Working knowledge of other 3D integrated design software is an asset.
- Good organizational and communication skills are a must,
- You must adhere to a variety of client CAD standards while maintaining a high quality piping deliverable production.
