Job Profile:
[Recruiter] is currently recruiting for Structural Designers for Edmonton based opportunities to work in an EPC/M environment on industrial Engineering projects.
Qualifications:
- Candidates should have a strong technical design background. Ideally, the experience should include work on heavy industrial projects such as power supply facilities, mining facilities, large petrochemical plants and refineries, as well as oil and gas production facilities.
- The individual would work on a mutli-discipline team and provide design services related to civil/structural systems for industrial facilities using CADD (both 2D and 3D).
- The ideal candidate would hold high ethical and professional standards.
- They would also possess excellent interpersonal and communications skills as well as leadership capabilities.
- A solid technical foundation with 2D and 3D CADD abilities would be a required.
Responsibilities
- Design/draft (2D and 3D) Civil/Structural systems (including: steel structures, frames, supports, platforms, reinforced concrete, civil undergrounds, earthworks etc.)
- Perform field checks for design verifications
- Support multi-discipline team and liaison with other designer/engineers as required
- Coordinate Civil/Structural design activities when required
Education & Certifications
- Familiarity with CSA W59, S16.1, ABC/NBC and other related structural specifications and
- standards
- Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology is desirable
- Professional Designations (C.E.T./ R.E.T.) through ASET is desirable
Critical Skills
- Ability to communicate with others and solve problems is crucial
- Excellent technical knowledge
- Good computer skills
- Ability to meet deadlines, work independently and under pressure
