Job Description
Generate and evaluate new drill and re-completion opportunities within existing asset areas. Areas of major emphasis include Wilcox Paleocene SS as well as other onshore Tertiary sandstone trends. Provide a regional geologic perspective of Tertiary sandstone plays, including thickness, structure, depositional facies, and current producing trends. Preliminary emphasis will be on shallow Wilcox fluvial systems directly overlying and immediately landward of the Lower Cretaceous shelf margin. Generate field-size distributions and summarize play and reservoir statistics for Tertiary sandstone plays. Develop economic step-out, trend extension, and deep pool exploration/exploitation opportunities for Tertiary sandstone targets, with initial emphasis on the Wilcox.
Qualifications
- A Master’s degree in Geology is required with a minimum of 15 years of petroleum industry interpretation experience.
- Must be able to integrate geologic data with newly acquired 3D seismic data to create detailed depth structure, amplitude, and isopach maps on perspective reservoir intervals.
- Generate synthetic seismograms, avo models, and time depth relationships to facilitate tie of well and seismic data.
- Perform basic log interpretation and assist in determination of potential pay and volumetrics.
- Coordinate storage of prospect, field, and well data and ensure digital data is loaded to appropriate databases.
- Provide assistance in rock properties, reservoir characterization, and reservoir performance/simulation studies including the development of earth models for input to reservoir simulations.
- Mentor less experienced Exploitation Geoscientists.
