Job Description
- Provide engineering support to the Reservoir Engineering staff and WD Asset Teams in the areas of reservoir management, reserves management, and economic evaluations.
- Primary duties will be related to reservoir engineering in the Raton Basin CBM field, including reservoir characterization, gas-in-place estimates, well performance analysis, well spacing determination, decline curve analysis, and discounted cash flow analysis of capital spending proposals including new drills and re-completions.
- Develop performance type curves to assist with reserves determinations.
- Provide inputs to the technical components of the ARIES reserve database with support from a reserves analyst.
- Support on-going development and other exploration projects as necessary.
- Support requests from corporate headquarters for various data, plots, presentations, etc. required for periodic and ad-hoc reviews.
- This job description reflects the minimum job duties for the lower level position.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or related discipline is required with a minimum of 2 years experience in Petroleum Engineering.
- Must possess strong analytical skills and be proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Prior experience in coalbed methane and using ARIES as a reserves management tool is desired.
- These requirements reflect the minimum requirements for the lower level position.
- The level at which a candidate is hired into is dependent upon the skill level and previous related experience of that candidate and the minimum qualifications for such level that they are hired.
