Job Description
This position is responsible for the support, budget and management of Scientific Applications with emphasis on the defined discipline Engineering.
Duties: support work to include the diagnosis and resolution of application and related data issues; document, communicate and track all resolutions; work closely with application and data vendors along with other oil companies to get needed enhancements and fixes in the applications; work closely with vendors to understand database and application configuration and upgrade requirements and connectivity issues; develop and document interfaces between application analysts and system support engineers to provide seamless support to the client; scope, plan and implement small to medium size projects; ensure quality delivery by utilizing Project Management Checklists, providing quality communications to the client and following up on issues; participate in large IT projects.
Qualifications
- A High School diploma or equivalent certification is required.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or an Information Technology related field is preferred.
- Candidate must have a minimum of 10 years experience in IT supporting Engineering applications, or an equivalent combination of work experience and education.
- Knowledge of developing and supporting SQL and Oracle databases is preferred.
- Oil & Gas related experience is a huge plus and some common knowledge of infrastructure.
